Vital: The Future of Healthcare

Vital: The Future of Healthcare is a charity Science Fiction anthology made to support the World Health Organization's Covid-19 fund. Maria Fernanda Vidaurrazaga worked on the final copy edits for the anthology before publication.
 

David Brin, New York Times bestselling author of The Postman and EARTH, is one of many renowned Science Fiction writers to have a story featured in the anthology. Other contributing authors include Tananarive Due, David Brin, James Patrick Kelly, Paolo Bacigalupi, Seanan McGuire, Annalee Newitz, Caroline M. Yoachim, Alex Shvartsman, Eric Schwitzgebel, Congyun Gu, Justin C. Key, Sally Wiener Grotta. Congyun (“Mu Ming”) Gu, Julie Novácová, and Lola Robles.

Ladybug

Ladybug is a poetic memoir which explores childhood abuse and mental illness. The Kirkus Review called it "An emotional remembrance told in controlled but expressive language."

Maria Fernanda Vidaurrazaga worked closely with the author, Nikia Chaney, to finalize the manuscript for publication.

The Silk the Moths Ignore

The Silk the Moths Ignore is an award winning poetry collection which animates the liminal, sometimes gothic, spaces of miscarriage, pregnancy, and early parenthood with exquisite defamiliarizing detail.

Maria Fernanda Vidaurrazaga worked closely with the author, Bronwen Tate, to finalize the manuscript for publication.

Güero-Güero: The White Mexican and Other Stories

Content editing and editing for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)

Eliud Martinez's collection of stories is based on the author's ancestral histories - from colonialism in Mexico to a childhood in Pflugerville, Texas. Carlos Morton called it "a passionate, eclectic journey through the life of a scholar and artist."

Maria Fernanda Vidaurrazaga worked closely with the author and his family during his final days on content edits and DEI edits.

Los Primos

Developmental editing

Los Primos is an upcoming Young Adult fiction novel about the the crossing paths of two estranged cousins, the young star of the Salinas High School wrestling team who navigates his first relationship with a boy and the son of a an imprisoned gangster who has been tasked with shooting someone for the first time by the gang leader.
